(Set Dance)

Bars

1-8

1C cross down to 2^nd place, 2C stepping up immediately; 1C then cast behind 3C, cross RH below 3C and cast up to 2^nd place on own sides.

9-16

2C & 1C and 3C & 4C set on the sides, turn partner BH once round, opening into 4 hands once round to the left, ending with 1C & 4C facing up on own sides and 2C & 3C facing down on own sides.

17-24

Mirror reels of 4 on the sides of the dance, beginning with 1C & 4C dancing up the middle, 2C & 3C dancing out and down; partners touch hands as they meet.

25-32

1C & 3C dance RH across ½ way; 1C & 4C dance LH across ½ way; 3C & 4C cross RH with partners to own sides; all set on the sides. End 2, 3, 4, 1.

Repeat 4 times.

Suggested music is Seann Truibhas Willichan from Scottish Dance Favorites, Vol. 2 (RSCDS CD-4). An alternate is 4X32 Strathspey Airs from Gang on the Same Gate by Green Ginger.

I wrote The Tom Senior Reel because Tom wanted a dance with mirror reels of four. When we danced it, he asked if I would write a strathspey with mirror reels of four, so the dancers had time to enjoy the reels.
