We tried to adopt a bonded pair of 14-year-old female cats named Coco and Boo. Coco is a calico and Boo is a tortoiseshell and Dan has always wanted a calico cat. Well, it didn’t work out. We already had a 9-year-old gentle male who wanted a friend and these 2 cats didn’t want to be friends – which would have been OK – but Coco was terrified of Trotter and we couldn’t soothe her enough to make things work. When we took them back to the shelter they asked if we’d consider adopting just Boo so we did and now we have a 6 pound cat and a 16 pound cat who make an odd couple indeed.
