by Sue McKinnell 8x32 Reel for 3C
Bars
1-4 1C set, 1W advancing and 1M pulling RS back to face out. 1M followed by 1W cast off 1 place as 2C steps up. 1C end in the center facing women's side, 1W above (to the left of) 1M.
5-8 Half reels of 3 across the set, 1W passing 2W LS and 1M passing 3W RS to begin. 1C end in the center facing men's side, 1W above (to the right of) 1M.
9-16 1W and 2C dance RH across while 1M and 3C dance LH across. Starting on bar 4, as each person reaches the center, they cross to the other end to do hands across (continuing RH at the top and LH at the bottom). The order of changing ends is: 1W/1M, 2M/3M, 2W/3W. End in the order 3, 1, 2 with 2C and 3C on opposite sides. 1W end facing 3W in 1M's position with 1M right behind her.
17-20 1C, 2M, and 3W dance a half reel of 3 on the diagonal, 1W dancing wide as she rounds the end of the reel to allow 1M to take the lead. 1M end facing 2W in 3M's position with 1W right behind him.
21-24 1C, 2W, and 3M dance a half reel of 3 on the diagonal, 1M dancing wide as he rounds the end of the reel to allow 1W to take the lead. 1C end in 2nd place on own sides. End 2, 1, 3.
25-32 Circle 6 hands round and back.
Repeat.
Suggested music is Glen Alva from Selected Craigevar Dances.
When we were in Scotland we explored McCaig's Tower in Oban. It has an interesting history and is a round building with no top. I liked the crossover hands across in the Jute Spinner's Reel and wanted to try it up and down the set.
