5C Set Dance

Bars

1-8

1C & 3C set and cast off one place as 2C & 4C step up. 1C dance a half figure of eight up between 2C while 3C dance a half figure of eight down between 5C.

9-16

1C dance diagonal rights and lefts with 2C & 4C while 3C dance diagonal rights and lefts with 4C & 5C (4C must do double duty here); to begin women change RH down and men change RH up.

17-20

1C & 3C turn RH to face 1^st corner positions.

21-24

1C & 3C dance a half diagonal reel of four with the people in 1^st corner positions. Order is now 5, 1, 4, 3, 2.

25-28

All cross RH with partners, then 1C & 4C, 3C & 2C change places LH on the sides (these are the bottom four couples in the set).

29-32

All cross RH with partners, then 1C & 2C change places LH on the sides (positions 3 & 4 in the set). Order is now 5, 4, 2, 1, 3.

Repeat 5 times.

After years of nursing sick, elderly cats, we found ourselves with no cats and adopted four young, healthy males. This dance captures one of the joys we now experience: paws under closed doors, seeking out attention or anything that might pass as a toy.
