Set Dance

Bars

1-4

1C & 3C set and cast off one place to face 1^st corners as 2C & 4C step up.

5-8

1C & 3C dance a half diagonal reel of four with 1^st corners, passing right shoulder to face 2^nd corner positions.

9-12

1C & 3C dance a half diagonal reel of four with the people in 2^nd corner positions, passing right shoulder to face partner's 1^st corner positions.

13-16

1C & 3C dance a half diagonal reel of four with the people in partner's 1^st corner positions, passing left shoulder to face out in 2^nd place on own sides in double triangles position. Order is 5, 1, 4, 3, 2.

17-24

1C & 3C dance double triangles. 1C & 3C end facing out.

25-32

5C, 1C, & 4C dance a half reel of three on the sides, beginning by 1C casting down to start (reel is RS on the women's side and LS on the men's side) and ending with 1C facing up in 2^nd position while 3C cast behind 2C and dance up the center to end facing up in 4^th position. 1C dance up to the top and cast 2 places as 5C steps up while 3C dance up to just above 3^rd position and cast 2 places as 2C steps up. Ending order is 4, 5, 1, 2, 3.

Repeat 5 times.

Suggested music is The McDonald Saunter from Dances with a Difference or Hoedown Reel Set from The Music Makars.

This dance commemorates my trip to New York, when I took the train to New Jersey and dances with the SCD group in Fanwood.
