1-8 1C and 3C dance petronella turns to the middle, W facing down and M facing up, then dance a half reel of 4 up and down and dance petronella turns to own sides. End 3, 2, 1.
9-16 Set and rotate for 3 couples. End 1, 2, 3.
17-24 All circle left and back.
25-32 All dance a bourrel for 3 couples. (Note: couples are no longer facing original partners.)
Repeat from new positions.

In class the sets are always moving around the floor and one night someone mentioned it as drifting and said I should write a dance about it. This is my response. After all, what better way to illustrate drifting than changing partners in the dance. Also, my favorite doo-wop group is The Drifters, so I can honor that here as well. Plus, it offers another twist on the 3-couple bourrel, a figure I love to experiment with.
