1-8 1C & 2C dance the Bourrel: 1M & 2W set advancing, then turn BH ¾ turning over RS to end back to back in the center of the set, 2W facing up and 1M facing down WHILE 1W & 2M dance CCW around the dance to end facing partners. All set, then 2C turn BH to end on own sides in 1st place, while 1C turn BH to end 1W in 2nd place on the opposite side facing out with 1M behind her.
9-16 1W followed by 1M cast up behind 2M, in the top of the dance, down between 2C and 3C, cast up behind 3W, and in through 2nd place. 1C end back to back in the center of the dance facing opposite sides; 1M turning over LS into place.
17-24 All set. 1W and 1M change places, turning over RS, to end back to back facing own sides WHILE 2C & 3C set. All set. 1W and 1M change places, turning over RS, to end back to back facing opposite WHILE 2C & 3C set.
25-32 1W with 2M & 3M and 1M with 2W & 3W circle 3 once round to the left. 1C pass LS in the center to face own sides. 1W with 2W & 3W and 1M with 2M & 3M circle once round to the left, 1C curving into 2nd place on own sides on the last bar of the phrase.
Repeat.

This dance was named because the figure danced by 1M in bars 9-16 reminds me of the ampersand ('&') character.
