George Whitehorne's Scottish Country Dances

George Whitehorne was the father of Mary Helen Polensky, one of the founding members of the Silk and Thistle class. He wrote a number of Scottish Country Dances and graciously allowed us to post them here. Every year he attended the Chicago Branch Weekend Workshop and frequently brought dances for the Silk and Thistle class to try. Each of the dances listed here has been danced at the Silk and Thistle class and many have been included on one of the Frolic on the Fox dance programs. George danced well into his 90's and lived to be 105.

There are two versions of each dance available on this page. Clicking the dance name brings up an HTML version; clicking on the "PDF" link next to the name downloads a PDF version.
