1-8 1C and 4C set and turn RH ¾ to form a line up and down the set with women facing down and men facing up. 1C and 4C dance a half reel of 4 up and down the set remaining in the center of the set.
9-16 4C and 1C set and turn LH ¾ to opposite sides, 1W and 4M end facing out. 1W followed by 1M cast up 1 place and across to own sides while 4M followed by 3W cast off 1 place and across to own sides. 2C step up and 3C step down on bars 5-6 of the phrase.
17-24 2C and 4C, 1C and 3C dance RH across; 4C and 1C dance LH across. End with 2C and 1C facing down and 4C and 3C facing up.
25-32 2C and 4C, 1C and 3C dance double figures of 8, 2C cross down and 3C cross up to begin. Ending order is 2413.

This dance reminds me of the cat's cradle figure called the soldier's bed.
