Bars  
1-8 1C and 2C dance the helix:
1C and 2C set advancing to pass partners LS, pull RS back and dance back to place, cross RH with partners, and dance RH across halfway.
9-16 1C and 3C dance a reverse helix:
1C and 3C dance LH across halfway, cross LH with partners, set advancing to pass partners LS, and pull LS back to dance out to own sides. Ending order is 2, 3, 1.
17-24 1C set, turn BH once round, dance up the set to the top (above 2C) and cast off 1 place to end facing 1st corners. 3C step down on bars 5-6 of the phrase.
25-32 1C dance corners pass and turn with 1st corners, pass RS to face 2nd corners, dance corners pass and turn with 2nd corners, and pass RS to 2nd place on own sides.
Repeat.

At the 2013 Madison Ball, Lynn Litterer mentioned a figure she'd danced at a workshop earlier that day (the Helix) and asked if I could create a dance for which the name Double Helix would be appropriate. This is the second of several dances I came up with.
