King Tut
by Sue McKinnell 3x32 Reel for 3C
(Triangular Set)
Bars
1-8 1W cross in front of 1M into 1W LH across with 2C, 1M RH across with 3C. 1C pass LS into 1W RH across with 3C, 1M LH across with 3C. 1C end in original places.
9-16 All turn partners RH to make a wheel with men in the middle LH across, taking nearer hands with partners. All advance two places and men drop hands.
17-24 All set and link with partners, putting women in the center. Women take LH across, taking nearer hands with partners. All advance two places and face partners.
25-32 All set to partners, dance back to back, and turn RH to new places. End 2, 3, 1.
Repeat.
Suggested music is The Ruby Hornpipe from Muriel Johnstone’s Merse Collection. The first 8 bars are rather quick. This dance also works as a strathspey.
This dance occurred to me while I was watching a TV program proposing that King Tutankamen had been assassinated.
