1-4 1C set and cast off 1 place as 2C step up.
5-8 1C turn LH to face 1st corners then change places RH with 1st corners. 1st corners join LH in the center.
Meanwhile
4C set and cast up 1 place and join LH, 4M in front of 3M and 4W in front of 2W.
9-12 1st corners and 4C LH across ¾ then change places RH with the person they are facing in a corner position. The people now in the center join LH.
13-16 2nd corners and 1C LH across ¾ then change places RH with the person they are facing in a corner position. Ending order is from the top:
3M          1W
   3W   4M
   4W   2M
1M          2W
17-20 2C and 3C take promenade hold and dance CW almost halfway to end with 2C in 1st place and 3C in 4th place – both on opposite sides.
Meanwhile
1M cast up 2 places, 1W cast off 1 place, 4C turn RH halfway to own sides in 3rd place. 1C and 4C take hands and set on the sides.
21-24 2C and 3C set and cross RH with partners while 1C and 4C RH across once round ending in the center ready for...
25-32 1C and 4C poussette.

Not much of this dance contains figures that parallel or mirror and the messiness of it reminded me of the phrase herding cats – which is quite appropriate since I have never lived without cats.
